Mad Men

Are you watching Mad Men these days?  Bryan and I have been following the show since it first aired in 2007 and it's something we really look forward to watching every Sunday night (well, every Monday night since we moved back to NY.  It's hard to stay up until 11 pm these days!).  Last Sunday's episode was intense.  Wooo weee!!  This scene between Peggy and Don is incredible and just so sad.  It reminds me how far they've come.  Remember this episode?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEMe3wj-QuM

OK, check it out (warning: spoiler alert!).

The mobile

Luke loves hanging out under his mobile and I can't get enough of those chubby little legs and feet dangling above the rail of his crib.

Overachiever

Our doctor has told us that teething is partly genetics, meaning that if Bryan and I were early teethers, Malina would be too (and she was) and so would Luke.  And this weekend, after many soaked t-shirts from drool, I rubbed my finger along the bottom of him gum and found not one but TWO teeth sprouting!

Which leads to a lot of time with chilled butterfly...

I'm really going to miss this gummy smile of his...

It's kind of bittersweet for me.  He's getting so big so fast and I just want to stay this teeny tiny person.  But no matter how big he gets and long after he stops drooling, he'll always make ME drool.  I love you, Luke!

Siblings

I could never imagine Malina as an only child.  And now that we are fortunate to have Luke in our lives, I can't image life without him!  Malina has proven to be a wonderful big sister, giving Luke kisses, asking to go see him, playing with him, etc.

Luke has just started to prop himself up in a tripod position, it's not easy supporting that big head (big brain).

And who was there (besides me) to to give him a kiss to show how proud she was of him?

Every once in a while, Malina asks to hold Luke.  And after about 3 seconds -- just enough time to snap a photo -- she says "all done!"  Regardless, it's pretty cute.

And Luke loves his sister so much that he'll take anything -- even three seconds!  :)

The weekend

I thought gone were the days where Luke would rest his head on my shoulder and fall asleep.  But guess what?

And you know how that made me feel?  Like this...

It was a beautiful weekend here and we enjoyed every bit of it.  Everyone was really excited to have Daddy back home after 4 nights of traveling.  Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Google+ Commercial = Love

Google has some pretty awesome commercials.  This one made me smile big time -- what's not to love about Queen and the Muppets?  I want to hang out with these guys!

50 shades of red

Have you read this book?  It's apparently sweeping the nation and is #1 on the NY Times Best Seller list.  I read it while Bryan and I were in Miami (away from kids).  I finished it in about 48 hours and intentionally left it on the plane for someone else to read.  50 Shades of Grey made me turn 50 shades of red.  Did you read it?  Did you like it?

Look what I can do now!

Luke is only 4.5 months and check out his new skill!  He loves practicing so much that he calls for me at 3 am just to show off.  I'm so proud of you, Luke!  (But I'm happy to watch you do this at a more reasonable hour...  think about it for tonight).  By the way, I love how he first sucks on his thumb before he rolls over... to juice up!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!  We love you so much and can't wait for you to come back home!

I want do this

Do you ever have a moment where you stop and think to yourself, "Wow, I can want to do this... forever"?  Today I had many of those moments.  Maybe it's because Luke was such a joy (again)...  Or maybe because Malina got through the day without whining once.  Whatever the reason, it was a really awesome day.

It appears that Luke has found his voice, and how I love hearing it.  Shouldn't all morning start like this?

We then went for Luke's 4 month appointment -- he really did awesome.  Gained TWO pounds since last month.  Guess how much he weighs?  Really?  Nope.  Guess again.  He's 17 pounds 12 ounces!  And on top of that, he got two shots and barely flinched.  What a man.

Then Malina and Daddy went out to Home Depot to pick up some flowers to plant and tikki torches for our patio...  More on that later.  Here she is, cute as ever.

The rest of the day was relaxing.  Malina and I did a little shoe shopping -- in search of yellow sandals for her growing tootsies (per her request!).  No such luck, but I know just the place to get the perfect pair for her.  How cute are these?  http://mysaltwatersandals.com/yoorye.html  Despite the fact that we struck out, on our way home we scored some sidewalk chalk so Malina could draw all over Daddy's new patio furniture.

Oh so back to the patio...  Even though this is our fourth place (house/apartment/condo), we have never owned a grill.  So when we got one, we made sure to get a really great one and adorn it with party lights and tikki torches.  This grill has changed my life.  How you ask?  Since we got it, Bryan has cooked 95% of our dinners!  His grilling skills rival those of Bobby Flay.  Tonight was no exception.  He went all out and we had whole fish!  And what did I do?  I poured the wine.

I hope you all had a great weekend!  xoxo

Random Friday Video

Wow.  That's all.

The line up

Here's the line up...

Malina, our precocious little 2 year old...

And little Luke, our sweet 4.5 month old...

Hi, I'm new...

I've been thinking about starting a blog for some time -- mostly to share pictures of our cute kids and also to write.  I've hesitated doing this for several reasons: 1. having two kids (one 2 year old and one 5 month old) is well, busy, 2. I didn't know where to start, 3. I wasn't sure about sharing stuff online (I'm not even on facebook!) and 4. what if I want to erase something?  Are there take-backs?

Well, I'm dipping my toe in to see what it's all about!  Here goes!!
